Room 5 have been working hard on our mental maths ability. We have completed lots of fun activities to help us try to answer calculations in our heads without concrete materials. We are getting quicker at answering mental maths questions within 20.
We have also started a new Health and Wellbeing topic about medicine and how to stay safe around it. We looked at the different types of medicine that you can get and when we might use them. We also discussed how important adult supervision is around medicine and where medicine could be stored to keep everyone around us safe. We were also given scenarios involving medicine by Miss Mulreany and we had to discuss the safest way to resolve those situations.
For PE this week, we completed different active stations to help improve our fitness levels. We had skipping ropes and races stations to name a few. Our heart rate definitely increased by the end of the lesson. On some of our PE days, we have enjoyed completing yoga in the classroom.
We have also been focussing on our handwriting over the last few weeks. At the beginning of our handwriting sessions, we complete finger gym exercises to warm up our hands which then helps us to write beautifully formed letters.
