We’re only a week and a half into the new term and we’ve already had an incredibly busy start to the year!
“Its the start of the new year and we’ve been talking about how people might celebrate the new year and also how people make new year’s resolutions. We thought about new year’s resolutions we wanted to accomplish and wrote them down onto stars for our health and wellbeing display. We made them into targets we wanted to achieve in school before June.” Carys
“On the Friday of the first week back it was snowing. Instead of doing PE we were allowed out to play in the snow! Lots of us worked in teams to make snowmen, snow volcanoes and even a slide! It was lots of fun!” Eryn
“Back in September we took part in the Road Safety calendar competition that the council runs. At the assembly on Friday, Mrs Webber announced that there were some Highly Commended winners for their posters. In our class, myself, Emily, Giorgia, Carys and Calie all won a certificate for our efforts!” Nusaibah
“In term 2 we were doing an enterprise project. We had to complete a market research task and ask our parents/people at home if they had any issues or problems that could be fixed with an invention. Then we got into groups and had to choose what we wanted to invent. We worked in the groups and made a big poster with all the drawings we created and all the information about our inventions. On Wednesday, we set up our posters in the dinner hall and had rooms 16, 17 and 21 come to visit us and we talked about all our inventions. We talked about how our inventions worked and why we chose to invent them. We sent invitations to Mrs Webber, Mrs Cowie and Mrs Robinson who all came along to see our work. Scott our janitor and Mrs MacFarlane also popped in to see our hard work too! I was quite nervous at the start having to talk to everyone about our poster but then I got used to it and felt more confident after a while.” Connor
“We’ve been chatting about how children have rights and what they are. We had some rights printed out and we had to discuss what ones we thought were the most important and least important. I found it easy working in a team to put them in the order because we worked together. We had a look at the SHANNARI wheel and matched the rights up to each part of the wheel like Safe, Healthy, Achieving and all that.” Calan
