On Friday the P7s in Room 22 took part in Active School’s new Sidekick training! This will enable the pupils to organise lead activities and extra-curricular clubs for the younger pupils in the school, with the support of active schools and school staff.
The pupils took part in some of the activities that they will be teaching the younger pupils. They learnt how to deliver and teach simple games that build up different sporting skills in the younger pupils.
They then discussed what makes a good leader and took part in some communication exercises.
Then, in small groups, they taught the rest of the pupils in the class how to play different games.
They pupils absolutely loved this training and all proved they are excellent leaders.
They are so excited to use their new skills during extra curricular clubs in the new year.
Well done boys and girls you should all be so proud of yourselves!
A huge thank you also to Katie, Katie, Hannah and Josh from Active Schools for showing the pupils how it’s done!
