Good afternoon everyone!

Room 1 have had a very busy week with our Nativity and Carol Concert rehearsals.

In Literacy this week we were learning ‘c’ ‘k’ and ‘ck’. We can pronounce, recognise and identify words with these sounds. The boys and girls really enjoyed learning the songs and actions for these sounds. Ask your child to sing you the songs. We have been learning to read and spell our common words this week, can, we and into.  Room 1 came up with great sentences using these words.

For our writing this week we went on an Autumn walk, this helped us to create a detailed picture, which we used to create our sentences. We worked hard at making sure we remembered our capital letters, full stops and finger spaces.

In Numeracy this week we were continuing with addition. The boys and girls enjoyed lots of active learning to help them with adding 0, 1 and 2. We talked about how to use a number line when adding. We are continuing our counting practice every day and are very good at counting in 10s.Ask your child to count in 10s for you.  We also looked at counting in 2s and talked about how these numbers are all even numbers.

This week we have been working hard at our Nativity performance with lots or rehearsals and song practices. The boys and girls are enjoying taking part in this and are excited for you to see their hard work.

Have a lovely weekend!
