Here’s what we have been up to this week.

In Literacy, the Roald Dahl group focused on phoneme ‘se’ and continued using their reading strategies for their book ‘Alien Stole My Dog’. The David Walliams group focused on Common Words this week and looked a lot at inferencing the deeper meaning of a text using the novel Emily’s Surprising Voyage.

Our new class novel is The Christmasaurus by Tom Fletcher. We loved his style of writing in The Creakers and wanted to explore more of his work. Also perfect for the run up to Christmas.

We also did some Active Literacy stations focusing on punctuation.

For Numeracy we have been consolidating our multiplication and division strategies and focusing on the link between them.

For our topic we designed our own Scottish Castles whilst also looking at the work of artist Paul Klee. We were inspired by his paintings and we created castles using elements of line, shape, colour and tone.

It was great to see all the children in their ‘Be Bright’ clothes today. A happy end to another great week.
