Newton Farm Primary School and Nursery Class

Children In Need/Book Week Scotland

This week, again we have had another great week of learning. In Numeracy we have been putting a lot of effort into subtraction with borrowing and missing number calculations. We found this quite tricky to begin with but we are getting the hang of it now. For number talks, we also looked at the counting on strategy which helped support our learning here. For Book Week, we have been enjoying lots of activities to promote our love for books, such as daily DEAR Time, discussion and art. We also watched an Author’s Live focussing on creative writing and can’t wait to plan, write our own and share these with the class. We even had a visit to our school library and enjoyed having a chat about using this facility in the future. For Children in Need on Friday, we had a lovely day dressing in yellow/spotty clothes and had the best Dance-A-Thon to end the day. We were all very tired!
Thank you for another super week, Room 14.
