A fun-filled week in Room 5 😁📚

This week, Room 5 celebrated Book Week Scotland. We completed lots of fun activities and also got to visit the school library for the first time. We designed bookmarks which encapsulated a love of reading and created a new front cover for our class novel, ‘The Enchanted Wood’. On Tuesday, we had a visit from a ‘Mystery Reader’, Mr Mackay, who read us a fantastic story titled, ‘Traction Man Is Here’. We also enjoyed watching a couple of episodes of Authors Live, where Julia Donaldson and Lauren Child, read us their fantastic books. We were also super excited to receive our amazing ‘Read, Write, Count’ bags and enjoyed exploring the contents of them.

Today we also helped raise funds for BBC’s Children in Need. Our outfits were fantastic and we made a real effort to wear something yellow or spotty. We learned about the great work that Children in Need do to help children around the UK. We had lots of fun at assembly today taking part in a Pudsey Quiz. We also created our own Pudsey pictures and to finish off the day we took part in a dance-a-thon! Our dancing even caught the eyes of Mrs Meechan, Mrs Webber, Mrs Cowie AND Mr Allen who all popped their heads in and had a little dance with us! What a fantastic week. We are off to hang up our dancing shoes … For now! 😁
