The week of Halloween!

Happy Friday Everyone!

What a busy and fun week we have had in room 1.  The children have been super excited all week about Halloween and we look forward to hearing all about it in their Monday news.

In Literacy this week we have been learning the letter ‘s’ and the common words, ‘I’, ‘it’ and ‘is’.  The boys and girls have enjoyed practising their letter formation using sand, lentils, loose parts and glitter.  We created sentences with our common words and were also able to recognise our words from stories we read.

This week in Numeracy we learned all about the number 9.  Children enjoyed recognising, forming and counting up to 9 and back from 9.  We also discussed the numbers before, after and in between 9.  Ask your child to identify number 9 when you are out and about.  this may be on a house door, telephone or at the shops.

For P.E Mrs Ventre and I got to see all the boys and girls dance moves.  They loved learning the Cha Cha Slide routine and boogying away to some Halloween tunes.

We have attached some photographs from this week and previous weeks.  We hope you enjoy them.  Have a wonderful weekend trick or treating.

Thank you for continued support
