What a busy busy week we have had in Room 1!
In Literacy, the boys and girls have been working on the rhyme ‘Arabella Miller’. We had lots of fun saying the rhyme in a range of voices. We have looked at the story ‘The owl who was afraid of the dark. Ask your child about the owl they have brought home. Can they talk about him and the other characters from the story.
We have been focusing on forming the letters of our name properly, can you continue to practise this at home. This can be done in many ways including using flour in a tray, sand or shaving foam.
In Numeracy, we were learning all about the number 4. We looked at a range of ways that we might see the number 4 as well as practising how to write it and explored the value of 4. We continued using number talks to discuss how we see numbers and have been using lots of different number language including bigger, smaller and odd and even.
In our All about Me focus we all enjoyed the chance to explore our 5 senses. We went on a senses walk outside and discussed how we use our five senses. Why don’t you ask your child what they could hear, smell, see and touch during our walk?
In P.E this week we have been focusing on working together as a team as well as our jumping skills. The boys and girls had lots of fun practising jumps including straight jump, star jump and tuck jump.
We hope that you are enjoying participating in Beat the Street.
Have a lovely weekend!
