Our week in Room 7

Another super busy week from the learners in Room 7!

For Literacy, we continue to work on our letter formation. Some of our learners were consolidating their knowledge of 2 sound digraph from Primary 1 and another group of learners were introduced to some new letter sounds.

During ICT, we used our previous skill of scanning QR codes which took us to our coding website login page. After successfully logging independently we were then able to code an angry birds game using direction blocks and the repeat function- we had to be super careful to avoid the TNT blocks though!

In numeracy, some of the boys and girls learned about greedy 0 and revised numbers 0-3 in lots of active ways. Another group of pupils used the Numicon blocks to explore number bonds to 10. This week, the squares group were comparing numbers with Charlie the Comparing Crocodile, we learned some new mathematical symbols > , < and = to help us identify numbers greater, less than or equal to.

We continue to develop our knowledge of the visual elements in art and used warm and cool colours to create beautiful castle pictures. During music we sang along with our new hello and goodbye song and also explored different ways we could make sound using a tambourine, we had lots of noisy fun!

For RME we learned about the Jewish harvest festival of Sukkot, part of this celebration involves families decorating a special outdoor structure known as a Sukkah with fruits and vegetables. We used the oil pastels to create our own fruit and veg to hang above our role play house- we think they look great!

Please check Google classroom for photos and have a lovely weekend 🙂
