✍ All Things Writing in P5/6 📝

September 17, 2021 by Miss Napier | 0 comments

In P5/6, we have just completed a 4 week block of writing on poetry. We’ve had a look at similes and metaphors and even created our own biography poems and limericks.

Today, we started our first block of narrative writing. We began by looking at, and highlighting, nouns and adjectives/descriptive phrases within an extract from our class novel, Ever Dark by Abi Elphinstone. We’ve really been enjoying this novel and love how she can make you visualise a character or setting with her choice of adjectives and phrases. From this extract, we started to draw how we visualise the cabin in our own minds too. We need a little more time to finish these, though!

In our separate classes last session, we all watched Abi Elphinstone’s Authors Live event and found it entertaining and full of interesting information that helped us with our narrative writing. Next week, P5/6 will have the opportunity to watch the latest Abi Elphinstone Authors Live event for her newest novel, The Crackle Dawn Dragon. We can’t wait!
