Newton Farm Primary School and Nursery Class

P3 R10 – Collaborative Learning :)

This week in Numeracy we have been revising the number before and after. In Physical Education, we put our knowledge of the number which comes before and after into practice by participating in a game of Corners. We thoroughly enjoyed playing and using our knowledge in a fun and active way!  We have also been learning about the number which comes between. Please have a look at the pictures which show how we have recorded this information in several ways 😊.

Different Ways Of Showing The Number Between

We also had the opportunity to work with a partner to create 1 more than, 1 less than, 2 more than and 2 less than examples. We then shared an example in front of our class audience. We have made a More and Less Than learning book so that we can continue to learn from each other and look at each other’s work once tasks have been completed. We will be adding to our Learning book collection within different curricular areas during the year 😊.

In Literacy, we worked with a partner and used our Skimming and Scanning skills to locate important information about the key topics – Musical Instruments, Owls and Spiders. What interesting facts we found about each topic! We also shared some facts with the class. We have made a floor book and again will be adding to our collection and learning from our peers.

The Digeridoo comes from Australia – pg 8

The guitar has a long neck and string that can be strummed – pg 16

In Outdoor learning, we worked as a whole class to put ourselves into the correct order based on our birthdays. This was a challenge in itself however we gave it a go and made a good attempt at getting ourselves into the correct order by working in a team and using our team building skills! 😊. We are very much looking forward to next week’s challenge!

Thank you for taking the time to read all about our learning journey so far. We look forward to sharing more teaching and learning experiences on P3 R10’s class blog page with you all! 😊
