Room 16 – Book Week Scotland

What a FANTASTIC week we have had celebrating Book Week Scotland. The children have loved all the exciting activities going on around the school.

During Book Week Scotland we:

  • Kept up our usual DEAR time. Some children set themselves targets to read a certain amount of pages during this time
  • Received our Reading Passports which we have already started filling in
  • Took part in a competition writing a poem all about the future
  • Worked hard completing some Roald Dahl maths challenges
  • Were excited to open our new gifted book written by a Scottish author. We were thrilled it was ‘The Elsewhere Emporium’ by Ross Mackenzie. We have already read ‘The Nowhere Emporium’!
  • Everyday we listened to a new mystery reader. We were read to by Alison, Ross, Mrs Webber and Mrs Meechan – we loved the stories
  • Finally, we had Blind Date with a Book. We chose a genre we liked and opened the bag to reveal an exciting new book. This was great fun!

Well done to everyone in Room 16 for working so hard. You were fab!

Have a lovely weekend,

Happy Reading πŸ’•πŸ“š
