Room 11 had a “spook-tacular” week leading up to our Halloween Dress up day!
Our Halloween week began with us using our art and imaginative writing skills to create ‘Wanted Posters’ and our very own Halloween stories! We then created our own Halloween word banks where we had to use an adjective to describe a Halloween noun. By focussing on using our senses to create descriptions of what we hear, see, taste, smell and touch during Halloween, some of the “fang-tastic” ideas included: “a ghoulish ghost”, “a petrifying pumpkin”, “a pungent potion”, “slimy sweets” and “spine chilling stories”. Take a look at our super literacy work in action…
We all had a “Spook-taculer” time at our Halloween dress up day and all looked amazing in our wonderful costumes!
Our day began by learning all about different Halloween celebrations around the world and we created beautiful sugar skull posters to celebrate, “The Day of the Dead”, which is celebrated in Mexico and parts of South America.
We also showcased our art, design and technology skills by creating Halloween decorations and cards.
|A big “THANK YOU” and “WELL DONE” to our Room 11 families and boys and girls for your ‘Spook-tacualr’ efforts on Halloween Dress-up day! Room 11 would like to extend a special ‘thank you’ to our parent council for gifting us with our wonderful Halloween bags – it was very kind and generous of you!|
