To celebrate Maths Week, Room 5 completed the challenge, the Riddle of the Sphinx.  They started by finding out about the Sphinx and Egypt,    then drew pictures to show what they would do if they went to Egypt.  The children had lots of great ideas including seeing animals, visiting the Pyramids and enjoying the sunshine.

Next they completed a warm up activity that included questions about height, width and shape.  Then it was onto the main challenge of finding the height of the highest hallway.  The class did an excellent job of identifying the highest hallway and then used their adding skills to calculate the total height.  Well done Room 5!
