Numeracy and Maths in Room 5

This week Room 5 continued to work on numbers up to 100.  The children can confidently put numbers up to 100 (and beyond) into ascending and descending order.  They have worked hard to complete missing number sequences and state numbers before and after.

Our focus this week was counting in tens and partitioning tens and units.  The  children passed a bean bag and counted in tens, then used this to complete a written task in their jotters.  Stations including the C-touch, bingo and activity sheets were used to practise these skills.

At home, ask us to demonstrated our counting in 10s for you.

On Thursday we focussed on 3D shape.  After learning the names and properties of some 3D shapes we went outside on a 3D shape we hunt. The children found lots of different shapes in the school and playground.
