Room 14 have been consolidating their recent learning on rounding numbers to the nearest 10 and 100. They wanted to show you the rhyme that we use to help us remember whether to round downwards or upwards:
1, 2, 3 or 4, round it DOWN to the 10 before.
5, 6, 7, 8 or 9, round it UP to the next 10 in line.
The pupils then became the teachers as they demonstrated how to round different numbers and soon realised that the same skill could be applied to any number, no matter how big. You can see from our photos that our confident pupils took it all the way to 1,000,000!
