Newton Farm Primary School and Nursery Class

Maths Week…and beyond!

We had so much fun during Maths Week Scotland, that we’ve decided to keep it going for the next few weeks!

Room 9 were were making money trees in order to familarise themselves with the shapes and patterns of coins. They also had a look through the Argos catalogue to appreciate that things cost money – a very important skills for life, learning and work!

Room 2  were working hard to identify coins and they were using money in a real life situation when they set up a little shop in the classroom. What a fun way to learn about money!

  1. I’m glad you have been looking at money and talking about the value of things. Matthew really does think money grows on trees so I did have a wee giggle when I seen this. Keep up the good work.

  2. Great to see the children learning about money and it’s value …well done room 2.
