Pupil Council

We had our very first Pupil Council meeting of this session on Monday afternoon and what a great meeting it was!

We read and discussed our Building Relationships document and the children talked us through all of the good things that happen in school to make sure everyone is safe and happy.

We then chatted about different charity events and decided on two that we will be supporting this year. In October, we will be doing a fundraiser for the Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity. Their theme is “Plaster It Purple” which we thought was perfect for Newton Farm! The Pupil Council will be planning for this very soon and we will let you know more as soon as possible. A big “thank you” to Niamh in P5 who brought this to our attention!

In December, we will be supporting Save the Children by taking part in Christmas Jumper Day. Again, we will let you know more about this nearer the time.

We hope you’ll agree, it was a very busy and productive meeting!!

  1. Niamh will be really pleased to hear that her suggestion of “plastering it purple” for the Glasgow Childrens’ hospital (as will Caiden) has ben taken forward. We have had a few stays in Yorkhill and we attend the new hospital regularly and we have often wondered how we could help this charity make kids visits to hospital less stressful and more enjoyable. Well done PC for taking this on, we hope you all have a great time plastering the school purple X

  2. I really enjoyed my first meeting. I’m both nervous and excited about being on the pupil council and looking forward to the charity events.πŸ‘πŸΌπŸ‘πŸΌ
