Newton Farm Primary School and Nursery Class

Welcome to Primary 7!

Over the past few weeks Primary 7 have been settling into their new class and have been discussing the many challenges that will arise over the upcoming year. Although we are only 5 weeks into the new term, there has already been so many opportunities for the class to be part of.

The pupil council is an important part of the school life with two children from each class attending meetings. This is an important role for children to undertake within the school as they have to relay information back from the meetings and take issues and ideas forward to the next meeting. Our class candidates prepared and presented speeches to the rest of the class and we had a democratic vote. The conclusion of this vote was Aaron McAllister and Lucy Alexander are our Council reps for Primary 7. Well done Aaron and Lucy!

Another excellent opportunity the class can participate in this year is the Radio Team. Camglen Radio Station have given the Primary 7’s in Newton Farm (and many other schools) the opportunity to create their own radio shows throughout this year. The radio team this year is; River Stevenson, Charlie Rivans, Ciaran Hume, Aiza Kazmi, Jayden Gilmour, Eve de Wert-Wightman, Ellie Priestly, Aydin Boyd, Maisie Taylor and Aaron McAllister. They have been working hard to organise their first show and it is going to be an excellent one! The team’s first show goes live on the 03.10.19! Be sure to listen in!

These are only a couple of the amazing opportunities that will be happening in Primary 7 and we will keep you updated on these as the year progresses.
