Making Music

Scottish Topic Group Rotations

Last week and today we took part in Topic swaps. Pupils in Rooms 5, 6, 7 and 18 were split into 4 groups and joined different workshops. Miss Duffy led a Highland Dancing workshop while Miss McGeary ran an Art and Craft one. Miss Hainie taught Drama while in Room 6 pupils learned about musical notes, such as, crotchets, quavers and rests. Here are a couple of photos from the music lesson. We enjoyed listening to a ceilidh band play a jig, reels  and a waltz. We made music with our bodies after learning about body percussion. We look forward to extending our learning next week by using instruments to keep the beat.

  1. Looks like lots of fun and love the idea of doing rotations. Might try that at work, I wonder if I would be allowed to music?😀😀

  2. This looks like a fantastic idea! Nico was letting mummy hear how he can make different sounds with his mouth to make music.
