These are factors which are within the direct control of the organisation.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

FINANCE<\/span><\/strong><\/h2>\n

Lack of Finance<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

  • A lack of finance may mean an organisation cannot afford new premises in order to expand its operations.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n
  • It may be unable to update its equipment or train its workers so will not produce as efficiently.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n
  • It may be unable to develop new products and therefore may fall behinds its competitors.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    Availability of Finance<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

    • If enough finance is available, the organisation can upgrade equipment, train workers and develop products becoming more efficient in production and more competitive in the market.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      Poor <\/span>Cash Flow<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

      An organisation may have poor cash flow \u2013 not enough cash coming in to cover the day-to-day running costs of the business.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

      • This may mean that it cannot pay its debts and may have to make cost cutting measures eg staff redundancies or closing branches.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n
      • The worst-case scenario is that the organisation may go bankrupt.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

        Good <\/span>Cash Flow<\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

        • Good cash flow allows the organisation to continue to operate and have good relationships with its suppliers.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

          HUMAN RESOURCES<\/span><\/strong><\/h2>\n

          Ability of Employees<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

          The development of new products or the use of new technologies will require a skilled and motivated workforce.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

          A shortage of staff will result in <\/span><\/p>\n

            \n
          • lower output<\/span><\/li>\n
          • inability to meet demand<\/span><\/li>\n
          • inferior customer service.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

            Having enough experienced staff means that the organisation should be able to keep the business running and offer good service to customers.<\/p>\n

                  Poorly motivated<\/strong> employees who are unhappy with management decisions may take<\/p>\n

                  • They may have a poor work rate<\/li>\n

                    • Skilled managers should make good decisions leading the organisation to success eg a decision to launch a new product or to change production methods.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

                      Capacity to Use <\/span>Current <\/span>Technology\u00a0<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

                      • Effective use of <\/span>current<\/span> technology in production should mean that goods and services can be produced more cost-effectively and to a higher quality standard.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n
                      • ICT enables efficient information processing so can be an aid to successful decision-making.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

                        • Ineffective use of current technology may slow down production rates and hinder effective communication between employees and with customers.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
