Dating apps, such as Grindr and Tinder may also be considered as Messaging apps but we do not currently have age appropriate content on those platforms.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left\">The risks:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>sharing private information<\/li>\n<li>sharing or receiving content that is inappropriate, offensive or harmful<\/li>\n<li>reading unreliable, or false, information<\/li>\n<li>being groomed or exploited<\/li>\n<li>being bullied<\/li>\n<li>receiving inappropriate images or messages\u00a0<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ncsc.gov.uk\/guidance\/suspicious-email-actions#section_2\">phishing scams<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<div class=\"builder-text-column builder-text-column-2\" id=\"builder-section-text_11-column-2\">\n<div class=\"builder-text-content\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<div class=\"builder-text-row\">\n<div class=\"builder-text-column builder-text-column-3\" id=\"builder-section-text_11-column-1\">\n<div class=\"builder-text-content\">\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft wp-image-13960 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/glowblogs\/public\/myexampleblogversion2\/uploads\/sites\/9784\/2021\/09\/04122032\/450C12C3-CF78-44CD-B993-373B0412ED92.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1260\" height=\"328\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Becoming cyber resilient is the first step to being safer online. Talk to your learners about the devices and accounts that they use to access online information:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Make sure that platforms are protected by stronger passwords and 2FA is enabled to stop others from accessing the account without permission<\/li>\n<li>Ensure they are aware of privacy settings, such as who can see or share your messages, media or location (Snapchat Snapmaps are enabled by default and allow other users to see your exact location)<\/li>\n<li>Check that they are aware of the risks of grooming, cyberbullying and scams<\/li>\n<li>Show them how to report concerns on the platform<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ncsc.gov.uk\/guidance\/suspicious-email-actions#section_2\">Forward phishing messages to NCSC on <strong>7726<\/strong><\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<div class=\"builder-text-column builder-text-column-4\" id=\"builder-section-text_11-column-2\">\n<div class=\"builder-text-content\">\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft wp-image-13959 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/glowblogs\/public\/myexampleblogversion2\/uploads\/sites\/9784\/2021\/09\/04122031\/7F3A8A1F-BC3F-4A0B-BE08-69D1D457AFAE.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1260\" height=\"328\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Being more cyber resilient reduces the risk of internet safety issues arising.
