My cohort will begin in December 2022.<\/p>\n<p>For inofmration about the course is below:<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"small\">Programme objectives<\/h2>\n<p>The programme will support you in building your racial literacy, by learning more about the nuances of racism and anti-racism, with the language to name it, and by developing the skills to continue this learning long after the programme is over with the support of the networks of learning formed.<\/p>\n<p>The programme will help you develop the skills, confidence and resilience needed to engage in racial dialogue, and your personalised anti-racist action plan created on this course will help you work towards leading anti-racist change in your setting.<\/p>\n<p>The Building Racial Literacy programme supports educators to become more confident in anti-racist practices and processes, developed against:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>the professional value of social justice in the\u00a0<a title=\"GTCS: Learning for Sustainability pages\" href=\"https:\/\/www.gtcs.org.uk\/LearningforSustainability\/lfs-professional-values.aspx#:~:text=%20Professional%20Values%20%201%20Social%20justice.%20Respecting,and%20leadership%20as%20core%20aspects%20of...%20More%20\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-anchor=\"#:~:text=%20Professional%20Values%20%201%20Social%20justice.%20Respecting,and%20leadership%20as%20core%20aspects%20of...%20More%20\">General Teaching Council for Scotland standards<\/a><\/li>\n<li>the professional value of social justice in the\u00a0<a title=\"SSSC: 2015 Standard for Childhood Practice Revised\" href=\"https:\/\/www.sssc.uk.com\/knowledgebase\/article\/KA-01548\/en-us\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Scottish Social Services Council: Standard for Childhood Practice<\/a><\/li>\n<li>the professional value of inclusion in the\u00a0<a title=\"Standards Council Scotland: Values of CLD\" href=\"https:\/\/cldstandardscouncil.org.uk\/resources\/values-of-cld\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Community Learning and Development Standards<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The programme also provides opportunities for educators and education system leaders to collaborate on anti-racist actions in their communities of practice (the programme national networks formed here) and apply to support future cohorts as Facilitators.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>My Learning and Leadership Journey Update 2022 &#8211; 2023 I have been fortunate to gain a place on Education Scotland&#8217;s Building Racial Literacy course.
