We looked at where it would be good to put some apple and pear trees and maybe a few fruit bushes. \u00a0We explored the back of the plot, under the trees, where the bee hives will go and we looked at the kinds of flowers they might be able to make honey from. \u00a0There were buttercups and speedwells but not much else. \u00a0We think we will need to plant some flowers for the bees! \u00a0We found out that you could tell if someone likes butter by holding a buttercup under their chin and seeing if their chin turned yellow. \u00a0We had lots of fun with this!<a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/glowblogs\/milngavienursery\/files\/2016\/06\/IMG_25851.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-939\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/glowblogs\/milngavienursery\/files\/2016\/06\/IMG_25851-300x224.jpg\" alt=\"IMG_2585[1]\" width=\"300\" height=\"224\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>It was fun to explore while the ground is very overgrown. Oliver found a protractor for measuring angles that someone must have dropped.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/glowblogs\/milngavienursery\/files\/2016\/06\/IMG_26081.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-940\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/glowblogs\/milngavienursery\/files\/2016\/06\/IMG_26081-300x284.jpg\" alt=\"IMG_2608[1]\" width=\"300\" height=\"284\" \/><\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/glowblogs\/milngavienursery\/files\/2016\/06\/IMG_26101.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone  wp-image-941\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/glowblogs\/milngavienursery\/files\/2016\/06\/IMG_26101-300x182.jpg\" alt=\"IMG_2610[1]\" width=\"399\" height=\"242\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Work is going to begin on creating an orchard on the land in September next year, and we have taken some &#8220;before&#8221; pictures to put at the start of a book we might make about all the building of our orchard.<\/p>\n<p>The ladies are particularly enthusiastic about the apple press that we might buy for the creation of apple juice from our own homegrown apples.
