Welcome to a new term at Milngavie Nursery.\u00a0 We are looking forward to an exciting first week, welcoming our new children and their families, meeting up with our friends and talking, in our groups, about our holiday experiences.\u00a0 We are looking forward to seeing how Spring has changed our garden and having a\u00a0look in our pond\u00a0to see what has happened to the frogspawn.\u00a0 Will both\u00a0Otto and Spotty, our nursery\u00a0goldfish have made it through the holidays or will we be discussing the possibilities of a fishy afterlife?\u00a0 The beginning of a new term is always exciting!<\/p>\n
In this term our pre-school children will be visiting their Primary One classrooms and getting ready for the big adventure of school.\u00a0\u00a0They\u00a0will also\u00a0be taking part in an Outdoor Active Learning Project with Primary 1.\u00a0 This year’s theme is PIRATES!! -Always popular with Nursery staff who love donning an eye patch and a dodgy pirate accent in the name of education!<\/p>\n
This week we are going to be drawing something we enjoyed in the holidays to put in our Learning Journeys.\u00a0 The skill we are working on this week is encouraging a good pencil grip- essential for handwriting later on, as it really helps with pencil control.<\/p>\n
Tuesday is Gym Day for the Red, Yellow and Green Groups.<\/p>\n
Over the next few weeks we will be revisiting our Nursery Charter, looking at the rules we chose at the beginning of the year and thinking about whether they are still important.\u00a0 We are going to meet up with Twiggle the Turtle in our PATHS (Promoting Alternative Thinking Skills) sessions and talk about how we make friends and also, how we keep friends- even when we disagree with each other.\u00a0\u00a0 We are also looking forward to finding out a bit more about Milngavie, with some more trips in the local area.<\/p>\n
