Last week’s Pirate Day

Last Wednesday we added a coconut shy to our active maths activity and the children made sums from the numbers on the nuts that they knocked down.

The Pirate Chefs were the Black Pearl Crew this week and they cooked up an amazing batch of smoothies using very healthy tropical fruits!  They were great! Once again the marshmallows proved popular with most of our crew but we are investigating other alternatives for our pirates who don’t like them- maybe sausages- as we think you are about as likely to find a pack of pre-cooked sausages, both meat and vegetarian, as you would be, to find a packet of marshmallows on a desert island!!

Delicious Pirate Smoothies

Delicious Pirate Smoothies – our lovely student, Caitlyn helped the children make them look extra-yummy by decorating the glasses with strawberries!

It was a lovely day this time and we did not have to cower in our home made shelter out of the rain.  We did enjoy Elisabeth’s colourful pirate tales though!  We think we might have a prize at the end of the project for the best built Pirate Shelter – they have all been fabulous so far!

Mrs Chambers and Ms Coleman’s crews had a great time outside, acting out their pirate tales this week.  They even dressed up!IMG_2373[1]  Their stories were action packed and full of adventure.

We set sail again on Wednesday 8th June for more piratey learning fun!  Ahar – it’ll be grand!!!
