Today in Nursery Angela helped the children investigate the force water can have in the garden. She put out water wheels and a variety of containers in the outdoor water tray and encouraged the children to describe what happened when water was poured or skooshed on the wheels.
She also provided an experiment with the water blasters to see what water could move best.
We found out that the ball was the easiest to move. McKenna noticed that when her water gun was empty it skooshed out air. She found that the skooshing air could also move the car and the ball, just not quite as well as the water. We think we could investigate air power too.
We had good fun trying to skoosh water as high as the nursery with the water blasters- it was very impressive.
Angela intends to make a wall about her experiments in the Discovery Zone, tracking the childrens ideas and learning.
