A glorious afternoon in the garden

Thomas the Tank Engine

Thomas the Tank Engine

Monday has been cold but very beautiful.  We have spent a lot of time in our garden today finding lots of sheet ice.  This afternoon’s creations included Thomas the Tank Engine made from logs, which we had to write the number 1 on, in pencil, because,”Thomas is Number One!”

IMG_2336[1]  The creator of this nest told me exactly how he had made it.  “First I put sticks on my nest and after comes leaves… and then we will do pinecones and then ice!  Ice is cold and I said that cos the sun is out, it melts and turns into water.  The water drains down where the holes are and and joins the nest all together.  Birds might come and live in my nest – small and big!”
