This is my first year as an MIEExpert and a Microsoft Trainer and I am very passionate about digital technologies.\u00a0 Due to the nature of my subject in School I am fairly comfortable with using Microsoft\u00a0 software and\u00a0 I have<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright wp-image-259\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/glowblogs\/public\/miescot\/uploads\/sites\/8846\/2020\/06\/07142425\/inspire.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"179\" height=\"100\" \/>been using Microsoft Teams for about 3 years now, so the transition to remote learning for myself has been quite seamless.<\/p>\n<p>My Local Authority has introduced 1:1 iPads in Secondary Level, you can follow the progress of this <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/inspireSBC\">@inspireSBC\u00a0<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<div class=\"builder-text-row\">\n<div class=\"builder-text-column builder-text-column-2\" id=\"builder-section-text_11-column-1\">\n<div class=\"builder-text-content\">\n<p><span class=\"ttfmake-icon mceNonEditable fas\">\uf109<\/span><strong> What am I using in my Virtual Classroom<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Microsoft Teams<\/li>\n<li>Class Notebook\/One Note<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright wp-image-261\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/glowblogs\/public\/miescot\/uploads\/sites\/8846\/2020\/06\/07143600\/tools.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"231\" height=\"189\" \/><\/li>\n<li>Thinglink<\/li>\n<li>PowerPoint (creating video content)<\/li>\n<li>Microsoft Forms<\/li>\n<li>Satchel One (Show My Homework)<\/li>\n<li>Post it App<\/li>\n<li>Kahoot<\/li>\n<li>Loom<\/li>\n<\/ul><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<div class=\"builder-text-row\">\n<div class=\"builder-text-column builder-text-column-3\" id=\"builder-section-text_11-column-1\">\n<div class=\"builder-text-content\">\n<p><span class=\"ttfmake-icon mceNonEditable fas\">\uf0c0<\/span>\u00a0 <strong>Microsoft Teams<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This is used as a tool to communicate with learners and give praise.\u00a0 I have several channels:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>General<\/li>\n<li>Question &amp; Answer<\/li>\n<li>Whole Class Feedback<\/li>\n<li>Exit Tickets<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The General Channel is for Owner only posting, this makes it clearer for learners to access information without it getting lost in a long thread.\u00a0 This means that announcements are clear.\u00a0 I LOVE announcements you have the ability to personalise your header and make information stand out.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-263\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/glowblogs\/public\/miescot\/uploads\/sites\/8846\/2020\/06\/07145338\/teams-eg.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"742\" height=\"442\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Any queries\/questions are put in the Q&amp;A channel. I also use this channel to give out praise to students to help build realtionships.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright  wp-image-273\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/glowblogs\/public\/miescot\/uploads\/sites\/8846\/2020\/06\/07151559\/praise.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"522\" height=\"452\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The Exit Channel is used for learners to post their POST IT note exit tickets directly to this channel from their app.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright wp-image-274\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/glowblogs\/public\/miescot\/uploads\/sites\/8846\/2020\/06\/07151638\/franchising.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"277\" height=\"481\" \/><\/p>\n<p>I also have a weekly Assignment Task for each class which will either be Summative (points attached to task) or Formative (rubric attached to task).<\/p>\n<p>The benefit of the weekly assignment is that all information is automatically stored into a digital grade book which can then if need be exported to excel.
