Art

The world of mass production began through the technique of print, and without it we would not be literate today.

Art is very flexible and can be linked to almost any area of the curriculum, for the purpose of this activity we were linking to literacy :

“I can analyse art and design techniques, processes and concepts, make informed judgements and express considered opinions on my own and others’ work.”  EXA 4-07a  (CFE, 2010)

Clements states that ” Reflection is an integral part of the learning process. It allows us to learn more about ourselves and how we learn, but it also aids us in improving academic skills” (Clements, 2016) Which was an important skill to use with this learning experience.

Part 3: We then carried out the same task by changing our print e.g. cutting out parts of the print using our pens ( press really hard)  and drawing additional features.

Some teachers overlook the benefits of print making and look to use other resources. ” Many teachers would like to pursue some other media in the art room, but diminishing budgets and lack of equipment keep us form trying any “new” things. The following are some ideas on how to bring printmaking into the art room without many extra effort or supplies. ” Print making can be made very simple and accessible for all when working will age and stage of children. (Hartman, 2016)

Music

Charanga is a music resource for children and young people, that is online and allows them to explore the different concepts of music throughout the curriculum. Charanga has features which allows teachers to plan lessons, training, CPD and whiteboard resources. The music included in the resource has been specially designed for children in schools. Primary 1 to 3’s songs has been created for their learning and development of skills. Primary 4-7’s music has this element incorporated into it, although includes more popular songs that they can apply their basic skills to.
