Within Largs Early Years Centre we provide a lending library for our families to access as frequently as they wish.\u00a0 This allows the children to choose a story to take home with them and their parent\/carer is responsible for signing the book in and out.<\/p>\n

We also provide ‘book review’ sheets and encourage our families to take one of these home for their child to complete after reading their story.\u00a0 This can then be returned and added into the child’s special book.<\/p>\n

As part of our lending library, each library bag also contains information on the ‘3 Read Approach’.\u00a0 This approach supports children to give them a better understanding of stories and texts.\u00a0 It develops their skills in listening and thinking, as well as retelling stories.\u00a0 Throughout this approach children are also encouraged to learn about the author\/illustrator and other important book words.<\/p>\n
