Free LGBT Inclusive Primary Book for Schools<\/big><\/a><\/p>\n

\"\"Time for Inclusive Education are offering Scottish primary schools the opportunity to receive a free copy of The Lass and The Quine for use in classroom or library.\u00a0 The Lass and The Quine, an original poem by Ashley Douglas first published in TIE’s Scots Poetry Collection<\/a>, has now been\u00a0developed into a children\u2019s book. This marks a milestone as the first LGBT-inclusive children\u2019s book published in the Scots language<\/p>\n

Originally commissioned to support teaching about diverse families and gender stereotypes, the poem has already been used by primary schools across Scotland to enrich Scots language learning and help children to engage with LGBT Inclusive Education Learning Themes<\/a>.<\/p>\n

New sextortion resources<\/a><\/big><\/p>\n

Fearless, the youth service of the independent charity Crimestoppers, has launched a new Scotland-wide education resource to help young people understand, recognise and respond to sextortion. Developed in response to feedback from educators and created in collaboration with young people, the resource features a short, engaging 4 minute video and facilitator notes – offering a flexible and impactful way to spark meaningful conversations in schools.<\/p>\n

MVP Scotland national team have launched a new scenario on sexual extortion, more commonly referred to as sextortion. This has been created in collaboration with Police Scotland, MVP trained staff and mentors, and has been piloted in schools. The new Fearless film featuring MVP mentors, will be shown as part of the scenario. This scenario can be found in the materials section of the MVP glow blog<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Report from Child Poverty Action Group: Priced out of school: how lack of money prevents young people from attending school<\/a><\/big><\/p>\n

\"\"This new research shows that lack of money itself prevents children from attending school. It also shows that children in lower income households are more likely to face sanctions, such as being sent home from school, for not having what they need, which further impacts on the amount of time they spend learning.<\/p>\n
