NB password is not a good password.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click OK<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Publish the post as usual.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>Here is <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/glowblogs\/glowbloghelp\/password-protected-example\/\">an example page<\/a>, the password is <em>password.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Important<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Only the\u00a0<strong>main content<\/strong>\u00a0of the post or page is hidden.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The\u00a0<strong>title<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0<strong>URL<\/strong>\u00a0remain visible.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Comments<\/strong>, if enabled, are also password protected.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Images\/media<\/strong>\u00a0inserted into the page are not protected if someone has a direct link \u2014 only the\u00a0<em>page displaying them<\/em>\u00a0is hidden.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>This means if someone has a link directly to a file or on the password protected page they can access it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"password-protecting-many-posts-and-pages\">Password Protecting Many Posts and Pages<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>WordPress stores this password in a browser cookie so readers don\u2019t have to re-enter passwords if they visit the same page multiple times. Furthermore, if multiple posts use the same password, the reader will only have to enter the password once to access every post (see caveat below).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>WordPress will only track one password at a time.
