CLPL – Creating a Culture of Belonging – Thursday 26th June

A free online Conference – Thursday June 26 · 9:30am – 12:30pm

The Mulberry Bush Organisation is hosting a free online conference to support the ongoing conversation around the importance of belonging in educational and care settings.

Featuring stimulating presentations from Ceri Brown and Alison Douthwaite (Connected Belonging, Bath University), Ellie Costello (Square Peg) and David Colley, Matt Wareham and Caryn Onions from the Mulberry Bush Research Team, delegates will have the opportunity to reflect on current research, policy and practice while engaging in vibrant discourse throughout the morning.

The aim of the Conference is to offer practical steps in developing a culture of belonging in your setting, based on cutting edge research.

CPL Opportunity: Anti-Racist Practice – Wed 4th June, 3:30 – 5pm

As part of the ongoing work across Glasgow to promote diversity, equalities, and anti-racist practice within education, the Glasgow Educational Psychology Service are hosting an information sharing event.

This event aims to bring together a wide range of local and city-wide services and community organisations who support BPOC, asylum seeking and refugee families within Glasgow through practical supports, advice, community activities and much more! Each organisation will be given a stall to provide information, share resources and allow for discussion with attendees.

CPL Opportunity: Loss and Bereavement – Tuesday10th June

Glasgow Educational Psychology Service and the Prince and Princess of Wales Hospice and NHS Health Improvement Team are hosting their annual training day on Tuesday 10th June from 9am – 4pm.  The course will:
•Provide practical resources and ideas that can be used in your context.
•Provide a forum to discuss challenges when working with children and young people experiencing grief.
•Increase practitioner confidence in speaking to children and young people about loss and bereavement.

Suicide Intervention Skills Training Workshops

Every day two people die by suicide in Scotland. The vast majority of those thinking about suicide will find some way to signal their intent.  Suicide may be prevented through the actions of prepared caregivers.  As part of an Action Plan to reduce suicide in Glasgow, the Glasgow City Suicide Prevention Partnership aims to provide training to key frontline staff via a multi-agency approach. In order to meet this aim, a series of suicide intervention skills training workshops are available for frontline staff. This training is available to all GCC Education Staff. CPL Opportunity – Inclusion Support and Development Groups 24-25

Please click on the links below for further information about registering for this year’s Early Years Inclusion Support and Development group sessions. The sessions are led by an EP and SLT and are focused on developing practitioner’s skills in including children with additional support needs. Participants will get the opportunity to attend six sessions across the year with peers, to engage in professional discussions, and to learn from invited professionals in sessions which are tailored to suit the group’s needs. Please note these sessions tend to be very popular and are limited to 25 participants per area. Please apply for the group in your area.
