The purpose of this course is to share information regarding:
-key features of the Into Headship and In Headship programmes
-the recruitment process, using nationally agreed application paperwork that evidences: full registration with the GTCS; demonstration of evidence of significant leadership practice and experience as appropriate in their sector context for example hold a school leadership role e.g. DHT in Secondary or PT/DHT in Primary; demonstration of proven commitment to their CPD in relation to school headship; demonstration of readiness/potential to become a head teacher within 2-3 years; access to an appropriate work environment.to undertake practice components of the programme; a supportive reference from HT or employer (HT endorsement)

Participants will have a deeper understanding of:
-course components, content and assessment
-the recruitment process

The purpose of this course is to provide an opportunity to hear about Postgraduate Certificate (SCQF level 11- 60 credits) modules offered by the University of Stirling:
-Advanced Professional Practice (focus on literacy, numeracy, STEM or HWB)
-Middle Leadership
-Curriculum
-Coaching & Mentoring
-Digital Social Trends

All of the modules above will contain an initial section, Engaging Critically with Professional Practices, the purpose of which is to introduce criticality as a foundation for effective professional learning and leadership in contemporary education in order to bring about enhanced capacity for self and system evaluation.
