It promotes a culture of learning and improvement, ensuring that children and young people are protected from abuse, neglect, and exploitation, and that their rights, voices, and wellbeing are at the centre of all work.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Functions of the Child Protection Committee<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>he role and functions of Child Protection Committees are set out in the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.scot\/binaries\/content\/documents\/govscot\/publications\/advice-and-guidance\/2019\/02\/protecting-children-young-people-child-protection-committee-chief-officer-responsibilities\/documents\/protecting-children-young-people-child-protection-committee-chief-officer-responsibilities\/protecting-children-young-people-child-protection-committee-chief-officer-responsibilities\/govscot%3Adocument\/00545910.pdf\">Protecting Children and Young People: Child Protection Committee and Chief Officer Responsibilities<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Under this framework, CPCs operate on behalf of the Chief Officers Group (COG), providing assurance on the effectiveness of local child protection arrangements and driving continuous improvement.<\/p>\n<p>The key functions of the CPC include:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><strong> Continuous Improvement<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ul data-start=\"1857\" data-end=\"2252\">\n<li>Developing, maintaining, and reviewing inter-agency policies, procedures, and protocols.<\/li>\n<li>Leading on self-evaluation, data analysis, performance management, and quality assurance.<\/li>\n<li>Promoting a learning culture, sharing findings from reviews, audits, and national learning.<\/li>\n<li>Overseeing multi-agency learning and development\u00a0to ensure a confident, competent workforce.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ol start=\"2\">\n<li><strong> Strategic Leadership and Planning<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ul data-start=\"2302\" data-end=\"2844\">\n<li>Providing strategic oversight\u00a0of child protection within the wider public protection and children\u2019s services planning landscape.<\/li>\n<li>Ensuring collaboration, communication, and integration\u00a0across all partners.<\/li>\n<li>Establishing and maintaining effective links with related public protection structures (e.g. Adult Protection Committee, MAPPA, Alcohol and Drug Partnership, and Community Planning Partnership).<\/li>\n<li>Using evidence, performance information, and local intelligence to inform priorities and improvement activity.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ol start=\"3\">\n<li><strong> Engagement, Communication and Public Awareness<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ul data-start=\"2907\" data-end=\"3258\">\n<li>Promoting public understanding\u00a0of child protection and the shared responsibility to keep children safe.<\/li>\n<li>Ensuring the meaningful participation of children, young people and families\u00a0in shaping and evaluating child protection practice.<\/li>\n<li>Communicating openly about the role and work of the CPC and how to access help or raise concerns.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Vision<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The vision of Falkirk Child Protection Committee\u00a0aligns with Falkirk\u2019s Integrated Children\u2019s Services Plan\u00a0and reflects a shared commitment to children\u2019s rights, wellbeing, and safety:<\/p>\n<p><strong>All Falkirk children and young people are happy, healthy, and safe.
