About the organisation
Radiant and Brighter Community Interest Company is an award winning organisation which was founded by Micheal and Pheona Matovu after they could not find work due to a long period of unemployment caused by immigration controls. The organisation provides employability support, business start-up support, and business to business training such as leadership, community engagement, diversity and cross-culture communication. All programs take an early intervention, collaborative and holistic approach which aims to provide relevant programmes tailor-made to engage communities. Programmes aim to bridge the gap between communities and mainstream support/opportunities in order to promote a more inclusive approach.
The organisation won the CEMVO (Council for Ethnic Minority Volunteer Organisation) 2014 employability award and the Evening Times Community Champion Team Award in June 2015. Radiant and Brighter has benefited from the support of several organisations including: Jobs and Business; Business Gateway; RBS; Women’s Enterprise Scotland; and ESpark. They have worked in partnership with Business Gateway, and also works closely with Council for Ethnic Minority Volunteer Organisation (CEMVO), Baseline 360, Nneoma Women’s group, and GrowBiz. Radiant & Brighter supports the Scotland CAN DO strategy for entrepreneurship and innovation and wishes to work with the Scottish Government and its partners to ensure BME communities are integral to enterprise in Scotland, able to play a full role in ensuring there’s a diverse and inclusive support eco-system. Radiant and Brighter also has established links with South East Integration Network, Poverty alliance, Entrepreneur Spark, Royal Bank of Scotland, Chamber of Commerce, Bad Idea, and Latta and Co Solicitors.

Testimonials
“The character building workshop ran by Radiant and Brighter had a lasting impact on all of us, students, graduates, and even those among us that have successfully run social enterprises. We were taught the value of our time, how to really play to our strengths every day and break down our own personal barriers to achieve any goals. All of which I am sure anyone would agree, are excellent life lessons”
