Enterprise activity in schools

Your Scotland Competition.

This competition was designed to empower young people in Scotland to research their local area and/or Scotland, identify problems and create solutions through teamwork, collaboration and communication.

The RM Your Scotland competition set primary school pupils in Dundee and Falkirk the task of identifying and researching a problem impacting their local community or Scotland and use this research to create a solution that they could then create a presentation or video on.

For the purposes of this competition RM made BrainPOP and J2e available to all teachers and students in every primary school completely free through their Glow Launch Pad.

Lots of schools sent in fantastic entries and the winning school (Rosebank’s Raising Raisins) had created a project on collecting food from their school community for their local foodbanks and created a video on the project. Their enterprising work had collected enough food for 6 families’ food for a week. The team’s fantastic work did not stop there as, following research into refugees, they proceeded to collect cuddly toys from their school community to send to a Syrian refugee charity, in total they collected over 160 toys. This competition was a great way to shine a light on the enterprising work of these three P6 pupils in Dundee.
