Scotland’s Enterprising Schools officially launched at the Scottish Learning Festival 2015 and is now available to teachers all over the country.
Cabinet Secretary for Education and Lifelong Learning Angela Constance unveiled the project in her opening keynote speech at the event, saying “I am delighted to announce that today Scotland’s Enterprising Schools will go live.”
Scotland’s Enterprising Schools is the powerful new online resource and professional learning community centred on sharing and developing creative ideas for enterprise education. Teachers across the country will be able to communicate and collaborate with one another to help build a curriculum with innovation and entrepreneurship at its core.
Angela Constance has said: “Scotland CAN DO is a platform for us all – across all sectors – to further sharpen our focus on creating sustainable economic growth. Our vision of Scotland is a world-leading entrepreneurial and innovative nation – a CAN DO place for business.
“Scotland’s schools, colleges and universities have a crucial role in driving ambition and making our young people aware of their entrepreneurial potential so we can help ensure that our nation meets its full economic potential.
“We fully support initiatives that bring entrepreneurship to the forefront of people’s minds, and Scotland’s Enterprising Schools is a great example of this in addition to showing the CAN DO approach.”
Scotland’s Enterprising Schools was developed to recognise schools for their work in enterprise education, provide a platform for sharing good practice, make resources available for teaching staff to support enterprise activity and encourage schools to develop a whole-school approach to enterprise and entrepreneurial thinking.
