John Devine, head teacher at\u00a0 Breadalbane Academy, an all-through school\u00a0 in rural Perthshire has invested in a unique approach to provide\u00a0learners with meaningful, tailored and diverse work-based learning opportunities.\u00a0\u00a0 The school has introduced a Employer Engagement &\u00a0Partnership programme with 3-5 year agreements with its\u00a0business partners\u00a0implemented by a project officer. “These partnerships lend structure and clarity to the process and help to ensure that engagements are well-planned on both sides, that they are relevant to the curriculum and\u00a0transfer knowledge and expertise from industry to classroom and vice-versa.”<\/p>\n
As a result\u00a0children and young people\u00a0gain invaluable \u00a0skills and\u00a0work experience\u00a0\u00a0which help them forge a clearer vision for their future career pathways .<\/p>\n
