\"ces-exemplification-tool\"<\/a>This tool will support\u00a0practitioners in planning and developing new\u00a0practice in career education\u00a0 and\u00a0to reflect on existing practice.\u00a0\u00a0 Based on the ‘I can’ statements in the\u00a0Career Education Standard (3-18)\u00a0it provides\u00a0illustrations of what children and young people might experience in order to help them meet their entitlements.\u00a0 For ease of reference the entitlements have been appended to the resource and linked to each theme.\u00a0 The tool \u00a0supports \u00a0practitioners \u00a0to consider what \u00a0career education might look like in their own particular contexts and to plan accordingly.<\/p>\n

Structure<\/strong><\/p>\n

The exemplification tool groups the entitlements and the illustrative \u00a0\u2018I can statements\u2019 in five themes and by levels.\u00a0 Alongside these are suggestions of the types of activities that children and young people might experience as they work towards their entitlements.<\/p>\n

The themes are :<\/p>\n

  1. Exploring the concept of work (from simulated experiences to the world of work)<\/li>\n
  2. Expanding horizons and ambitions<\/li>\n
  3. Diversity and equity<\/li>\n
  4. Seeking help and information<\/li>\n
  5. Finding a route to work<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
