Guidance on School/Employer partnerships, Career Education and Work Placements Standard available now!
The newly developed guidance materials for school/employer partnerships as well as the career education and work placements standards is now available for practitioners. These will support the implementation of the Developing the Young Workforce agenda for children and young people from 3 – 18.
The suite of 3 documents include:
Guidance on school employer partnerships – to support meaningful and productive school/employer partnerships in schools across Scotland. The guidance is published in 3 parts:

Implementing the School/Employer Partnerships and Standards will:
- enhance learning across the curriculum
- improve the quality and consistency of learning about work and careers
- improve young people’s ability to make informed decisions about future pathways
- significantly improve the quality of learning undertaken in the workplace
- better prepare young people for the world of work
The Cabinet Secretary for Education and Lifelong Learning, Angela Constance has announced the availability of the guidance and standard materials at this year’s Scottish Learning Festival. With regard to developing skills for learning, life and work Ms Constance commented that “teaching is a vital, highly valued and rewarding profession, an opportunity to use your skills to shape the lives of the next generation.”
