This live lesson will give your learners an opportunity to explore film and\u00a0screen\u00a0images as texts. They will explore strategies to\u00a0make predictions about\u00a0a\u00a0film, then use\u00a0still\u00a0images\u00a0from the film\u00a0to\u00a0learn about\u00a0sequencing a screen narrative, leading to the first steps to creating their own short film.<\/p>\n

The text we\u2019ll be exploring is\u00a0\u2018Mobile\u2019 on Screening Shorts (GLOW LOGIN REQUIRED).\u00a0<\/b><\/a><\/p>\n

In this adorable animation, a lone\u00a0cow\u00a0hangs by herself on one side of a child\u2019s mobile. Although\u00a0her weight\u00a0balances\u00a0that of\u00a0the others on the opposite side, she feels lonely. When kindly Mouse invites Cow over,\u00a0and she tries to find ways to join the animals on the other side,\u00a0chaos ensues. Can they find a balance?<\/p>\n

Sharing thinking: anything you’d normally use, such as post-its, or go digital with our O365 Whiteboard | Google Jamboard<\/strong><\/h4>\n

Sequencing images: you could do this with pen and paper, print these slides, or go digital and share these slides with learners<\/strong><\/h4>\n

Annotating images: you could draw the images and add speech bubbles or indirect speech on paper, or you can use the slides and draw speech bubbles with text or record and add audio to them<\/strong><\/h4>\n
