The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.plainenglish.co.uk\/\">Plain English Campaign<\/a> offer free Plain English guides: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.plainenglish.co.uk\/free-guides\">use this link to visit the Plain English Campaign guides page<\/a>. One of their top suggestions is to limit sentences to 20 words.<\/p>\n<p>The first action in developing your strategy should be to clearly state the aim of the strategy &#8211; <strong>what should it achieve?<\/strong> Try writing a sentence of twenty words or less that states a successful outcome for your setting.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/section>\n<section id=\"builder-section-text_151\" class=\"builder-section-prev-text builder-section builder-section-text builder-section-next-text builder-text-columns-1\" style=\"background-size: cover; background-repeat: no-repeat;background-position: center center;\">\n<div class=\"builder-section-content\">\n<div class=\"builder-text-row\">\n<div class=\"builder-text-column builder-text-column-1\" id=\"builder-section-text_151-column-1\">\n<div class=\"builder-text-content\">\n<h2><strong>Making connections to existing and relevant work<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Consider why your setting needs a digital strategy. What will improving the use of digital help you to achieve?<\/p>\n<p>It might be worth considering national priorities, such as:<\/p>\n<ul style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\n<li data-margin=\"720\" data-aria-posinset=\"1\" data-aria-level=\"1\">meeting learners&#8217; needs<\/li>\n<li data-margin=\"720\" data-aria-posinset=\"2\" data-aria-level=\"1\"><span data-usefontface=\"true\" data-contrast=\"none\">health and wellbeing outcomes<\/span>\u200b<\/li>\n<li data-margin=\"720\" data-aria-posinset=\"3\" data-aria-level=\"1\"><span data-usefontface=\"true\" data-contrast=\"none\">the poverty-related attainment gap<\/span>\u200b<\/li>\n<li data-margin=\"720\" data-aria-posinset=\"4\" data-aria-level=\"1\"><span data-usefontface=\"true\" data-contrast=\"none\">employability skills<\/span>\u200b<\/li>\n<li data-margin=\"720\" data-aria-posinset=\"5\" data-aria-level=\"1\"><span data-usefontface=\"true\" data-contrast=\"none\">tracking children\u2019s progress (particularly in literacy and numeracy)<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Will a more effective use of digital impact any of these outcomes? Revisit your strategy aim (20 words or less) and check these are aligned.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<div class=\"builder-text-row\">\n<div class=\"builder-text-column builder-text-column-2\" id=\"builder-section-text_151-column-1\">\n<div class=\"builder-text-content\">\n<p>Below is an example of a school improvement planning document &#8211; a detailed plan for achieving success. It contains:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>a rationale<\/li>\n<li>outcomes<\/li>\n<li>measures<\/li>\n<li>interventions<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>These should include information or data that makes clear:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>baseline measure of current levels of skills or confidence<\/li>\n<li>how impacts or outcomes will be measured<\/li>\n<li>names against actions;
