17 August 10:00 – 11:00 or 13:00 – 14:00, Return to School INSET – Glow and internet dos & don’ts

This session will support your staff with the latest guidance for using online services like Glow including effective communication, keeping information as safe and secure as possible, and supporting learners with better online habits.

This can be viewed by groups/whole staff (depending on your setting’s guidelines) or individuals. Only one registration required for groups/whole staff. 

A Glow login is required.

 

It will explain the three key messages from Education Scotland for supporting learners with using device and online platforms:

  • Consume, Create and Communicate – understanding how learners engage with devices and online platforms
  • Recognise, React and Recover – how to be cyber resilient and secure your devices and online platforms against scams and security risks
  • Safe, Smart and Kind – promoting positive behaviour online to support learners’ wellbeing

01 June, 16:00 – 17:00, SSERC CRIS mentor programme workshops

SSERC and Education Scotland have teamed up to bring you the CRIS mentor programme. It is designed to build confidence and to develop understanding of a number of issues related to cyber resilience and internet safety in the teacher community across Scotland. The knowledge and experience gained by delegates through the programme can then be used, along with the provided resources, to mentor other staff and pupils within their school communities.

The programme focusses on 4 key areas of CRIS:

  • Digital Footprint
  • Passwords and Encryption
  • Dealing with Online Issues
  • Securing your devices

 

The Digilearn team will be available for drop-in workshops, where you can ask questions, discuss ideas and share resources. These sessions will be:

  • 18 May, 1600 – 1700
  • 25 May, 1600 – 1700
  • 01 June, 1600 – 1700
  • 08 June, 1600 – 1700
