This introductory session aims to familiarise participants with tools available on Apple iPads and demonstrate how they can be used for learning and teaching. The content of our session will include:

  • Camera – capture and edit learning experiences using a range of techniques including slow motion, live photos.
  • Mark Up – edit screenshots and photos to offer feedback, identify key features, add text and incorporate shapes.
  • Measure – using the built in AR features, the Measure tool will support learners in capturing the size of real world objects using the virtual tape measure.
  • Notes – draw, create stories, tables, lists and so much more with this multifaceted tool which is suitable for everyone.

This webinar aims to:

  • introduce key features of the iPad, and skills to use these effectively;
  • explore how these tools can be used to develop the cross curricular skills for teaching and learning both in the classroom & beyond;
  • discuss opportunities for further professional development with Apple Teacher and programs from Apple to support creativity & coding in the classroom.

Introduction to using Glow and Office 365

This session aims to familiarise participants with Glow, its core features and how it can be used for professional collaboration, learning and teaching.

We will cover:

  • personalising your Glow Launchpad

  • using OneDrive to create and share with learners and colleagues

  • an overview of the 365 suite and its features

  • the additional features which are available via Glow

This session may be of particular interest to those practitioners who are new to Glow, returning to teaching or newly qualified practitioners preparing for 2021/22.

Please be aware these sessions are for practitioners across Scotland who have a Glow account. Some products may not be available in your Local Authority, please check in advance.

Upon booking your ticket a link will be issued to you for you to join the Digital Skills Microsoft Team Site within Glow where the training will take place, this can take 24hours to process.

This session will demonstrate how to create, customise and manage a Google Site. We will also highlight how your Google site can be used to showcase and share learning experiences beyond the classroom or school environment.

Introducing design thinking, discussing what it means to be creative & how to apply design to your classroom regardless of stage or subject.

What does design mean to you? ​

This session will introduce attendees to what it means to be creative and how design can be explored within your learning environment. This session will highlight how developing design skills can support the development of critical thinking skills and creative problem solving. ​

This is a joint session between V&A Dundee and hosted by Education Scotland’s Digital Skills Team.
