{"id":90,"date":"2023-09-11T12:36:34","date_gmt":"2023-09-11T11:36:34","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/glowblogs\/corpuschristi\/?page_id=90"},"modified":"2023-09-13T14:07:37","modified_gmt":"2023-09-13T13:07:37","slug":"girfec","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/glowblogs\/corpuschristi\/curriculum\/girfec\/","title":{"rendered":"GIRFEC"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>GIRFEC<\/strong> stands for \u2018<b>G<\/b>etting\u00a0<b>I<\/b>t\u00a0<b>R<\/b>ight\u00a0<b>F<\/b>or\u00a0<b>E<\/b>very\u00a0<b>C<\/b>hild\u2019.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/forceschildrenseducation.org.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/03\/girfec-visual-1.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<p>This is the Scottish Government-led approach to making sure that all our children and young people \u2013 and their parents or carers \u2013 can get help and support when needed from birth through to age 18 (or beyond if still in school).<\/p>\n<p>The vast majority of Scotland\u2019s children and young people get the love and support they need from within their families and their wider, local communities.\u00a0 But even the most loving and caring families can sometimes need extra support.\u00a0 The GIRFEC approach aims to make it as easy as possible for any child or young person (and their parents) to get that help or support when they need it.<\/p>\n<p>To access support when needed, Part 4 of the Children and Young Person Act (Scotland) 2014, states that every child in Scotland has a Named Person, as a single point of contact.\u00a0 This Named Person has a responsibility to provide help and support when asked and can draw together other services if needed, coordinating help for the child or parents.<\/p>\n<p>The Named Person will be a promoted teacher within the school.\u00a0 The name of the individual Named Person for your child(ren) will be provided.<\/p>\n<p>Please do not hesitate to contact the school if you want to speak with your child\u2019s Named Person.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>GIRFEC stands for \u2018Getting\u00a0It\u00a0Right\u00a0For\u00a0Every\u00a0Child\u2019.
