This year, the Day of General Discussion (DGD) of the United Nations Committee on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC) will be focused around the theme Protecting and Empowering Children as Human Rights Defenders. The DGD will take place on 28th September 2018 at Palais de Nations, Geneva.
We are very excited to share that Hannah and Cameron, Members of Children’s Parliament (MCPs) who were involved in the StreetsAhead Tranent project and DGD in 2016, have been selected to be part of an international Child Advisory Team to the UN Committee on the Rights of the Child, supported by Child Rights Connect. Along with 18 other children from across the world, Hannah and Cameron will help to plan the DGD.
From the 18th – 21st March, Hannah and Cameron will travel to Geneva to begin their journey as Child Advisors to the DGD so do look out for their updates on our blog, Twitter and Instagram!
