Following the Scottish Government’s announcement on Monday 4th January, a period of remote learning will start on Monday 11th January 2021. Rather than just lasting one week, this will now continue until at least the end of January.
The school will be using Seesaw to facilitate remote learning. Before the holidays, each pupil was issued with a Chromebook and charger along with a username and password to log on. Details of how to access Seesaw at home were also issued.
Every Friday, Class Teachers will post a timetable of remote learning for the following week so you and your child can see your child’s scheduled learning plan.
Every day, there will be an experience in Numeracy, Literacy and one other area of the curriculum. There will be opportunities for your child to join in learning experiences and observe recordings with their peers and teachers using Google Meet. Class Teachers will provide details in how to join these meetings. We actively encourage full participation in all activities. #
For our learners in Nursery, our Nursery team will add experiences to the Seesaw page.
Each week, there will be a Developing Young Workforce activity for each pupil in the school. This will appear in your child’s timetable.
Registration will be on your child’s class page on Seesaw and this will be open between 9am – 9:30am. Normal procedures apply for reporting absences. If your child is sick or unwell, please contact the school office manager by email or myself at Fraser.Thomson@highland.gov.uk.
For any unregistered absences, a phone call home will be made and unauthorised absences will be recorded.
There will be a virtual school assembly every Friday at 9:30am after registration.
